Purple Apple merit for Eastgate bike ride

At a glitzy gala evening at The Brewery in London, Eastgate was awarded a British Council of Shopping Centres Purple Apple marketing merit award for community relations.

The Purple Apple Awards are regarded as the “Oscars” of the UK shopping centre industry for marketing and Eastgate’s award was given in lieu of the Centre’s London to Paris bike ride last year.  This event raised more than £54,000 for Action Medical Research, and involved not only the fifteen-strong bike-riding team but also a second team of riders at Eastgate who pedalled their way to a similar distance over three days in July.

Eastgate’s Purple Apple merit was the fifth such award since 2004, and it follows Eastgate’s triumph in winning the Essex Countywide Business Awards “Best Business in the Community” accolade last month.
